CASTLE TAVERN – CREPERIE

Located below the shop, the castle’s tavern-creperie offers you a gourmet and thirst-quenching break on a sheltered terrace with a view of the magnificent Céou valley.

Open every dayfrom 9 February to 12 November 2026 and
from 21 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 (closed on 25th december).

Opening hours: from noon until the castle closes

In July and August, refreshments (drinks and ice cream) are available within the castle grounds.

Picnics are not permitted inside the castle. Picnic tables are available in the municipal parking lot above the castle and along the Dordogne River.

SHOP

Open since June 2023, the castle shop offers you a new bright, spacious and modern space where you will find many items related to the Middle Ages: castle merchandise, collectible coins, english books, glassware, jewelry, tapestries, models of siege engines, board games, stationery, costumes, medieval drinks…

The shop is open to everyone, all year round.

The castle tavern is open daily from February 9th to November 12th, 2026.
It is also open during the Christmas holidays.

Do you need to book in advance to eat lunch at the tavern at Château de Castelnaud?

No, you don’t need to book to eat at the castle’s tavern-creperie. It’s open continuously from noon until the castle closes.

Is it possible to leave and re-enter the Château de Castelnaud?

Yes, your entry ticket is valid all day. However, we ask that you present your ticket at the exit to have it stamped before you can re-enter upon your return.
