Castelnaud with children: an adventure for the whole family!

Step into the Heart of the Middle Ages

Climb to the top of the 16th-century artillery tower and storm the keep like a true medieval warrior. Life-sized war machines, authentic historical weapons, and meticulously recreated medieval costumes transport you back to the age of knights and lords. A captivating experience for children and adults alike!

Relive the Siege of 1442… As If You Were There

The sound and light model of the Siege of Castelnaud is a highlight of the visit, bringing to life a key episode of the Hundred Years’ War.
To dive deeper, six short films explore the castle’s construction, medieval attack and defense techniques, and the soldiers’ equipment of the time. An experience that’s both fun and educational—for all ages!Image

Learning Can Be Fun!

To succeed, you’ll need to use everything you’ve learned during the visit to outsmart the fortress’s defenses. Make it through all the obstacles—and a surprise awaits at the end!

During the spring and autumn holidays, children aged 5 to 14 participate in the Knight’s School, a workshop led by a fencing master to learn the basics of medieval combat.
And from April to November, don’t miss the thrilling trebuchet firing demonstration, recreated at one-third scale—an unforgettable spectacle for the whole family!
